He was predeceased by: his parents, Cosimo Muia and Angela Muia. He is survived by: his wife Silvana; his daughters, Angelina (Celestino Grossi), Giuseppina (Michele Marino) and Elisa (Domenic Trelle); his grandchildren, Alessia, Marianna, Alessandro, JohnMichael, Andrea, Massimo and Vanessa; his siblings, Rosetta (Cosimo Femia), Damiano (Rosanna Muia) and Maria (Vince Stalteri); and his parents-in-law, Giuseppe and Giuseppina Lombardo.

In honour and memory of Michele, donations may be made to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
