Modestino Checchia Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of Modestino Checchia (Toronto, Ontario) is shared. Modestino, born on October 15, 1939, passed away on August 29, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Modestino will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honour Modestino by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Modestino is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Modestino’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.

He is survived by: his wife Filippa; his children, Salvatore, Antonio (Erika) and Angela (Chad); and his grandchildren, Madelaine, Harrison, Aiken, Luca, Emilia and Siena.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Funeral Home (7300 Hwy 27, Woodbridge, ON L4L1A5). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Chapel of Our Lady of Consolation Queen of Heaven (7300 Hwy 27, Woodbridge, ON L4L1A5).
