He is survived by: his wife Dionisia; his son Carlos (Tania); his grandchildren, Elan, Ethan Gardner, Kyle, Taylin and Ava Moniz; his great grandchild Emery Moniz; and his siblings, Clotilde, Estrela, Joana and Maria Ines. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
