He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Schmidt and Gypsy Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Ann Merritt; his siblings, Dr. Michele Chaban (Peter) and Dr. Peter Schmidt (Maria-Luisa); his brother-in-law Fred Merritt; his nephew Peter Schmidt (Chelsey); and his niece Natalia Schmidt.
