He is survived by: his wife Lisa Kirk; his children, Anne Kirk (Michael D'Hollander) and Matthew Kirk; his grandchildren, Emelia and Charlotte D'Hollander; and his siblings, Earl Kirk, Gary Kirk and Jacquie Kirk.

He supported causes close to his heart, including the MLSE Foundation, Haven on the Queensway, and Youth Without Shelter—organizations that reflect his dedication to community and the creation of opportunity for others.
