It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Peggy Marie Este (Toronto, Ontario), born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, who passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Innis and Arden Innis. She is survived by: her sisters, Yvonne Spencer and Deborah Coward; her children, Kim Este-Watkins (Dave Watkins) and Tamara Este-Rouse (Bryan Rouse); and her grandchildren, Isaiah, Adam, Akiel and Alanah.

In honouring Peggy's compassionate spirit, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Peggy to The Children's Aid Society of Toronto, or CAMH, or the Toronto Humane Society.

“Kim and Tamara, I am devastated by the loss of my dear friend Peggy. I met her in 1974 shortly after arriving in Canada from England. It was a chance meeting when I found a dog running loose on the streets of Toronto. I took the dog back to my apartment and called the phone number on the collar. That phone number belonged to Peggy. She came to pick up the dog and that was the beginning of a wonderful friendship that I will never forget. Rest in peace my dear friend Peggy. I will miss you.”
