He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Hunkin and Babe (Ethel); and his brothers-in-law, Frank (Rita), Pat (Christine) and Sam.

He is survived by: his wife Teresa DeCaria; his sons, John and Jamie; his siblings, John (Susan), Barbara Cameron (late Kirk) and Susan Trumbell (Dave); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Vetro (Nick), Joe (Anna) and Vince. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
