He was predeceased by : his wife Eveline Porter; his parents, Henry Porter and Catherine Porter; his sister Ruth Coulis; and his daughter-in-law Heather.

He is survived by : his children, John (Cheryl), Tom (Gayle), Ted, Jeff (Sheila) and Evie; his grandchildren, Colleen, Sandi, John, Megan, Cyndy, Robert, Heather, Christopher and Caroline; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Francis Coulis and Georgia Peterson. He is also survived by his many greatgrandchildren.
