He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Barnes (Ted) and Grace Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Kate; his children, Michelle (Robert), Michael (Shannon) and Daniel (Amanda); his grandchildren, Jack, Charles, Nathan, Molly, Mackenzie and Gemma; and his siblings, Gwen Neufeld (Herb) and Bill Barnes (Heather). He is also survived by his extended family members and friends.
