He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Hope Fitzgibbon; his daughter Joy; his mother Bernice Donato; his siblings, Carman Donato (late Paulett), Marion Burgess (Allan), Nancy Doyle (Dennis), Joseph Donato (Edith) and Patrick Donato; his parents-in-law, Fred and Mary Crosby (Downing); and his siblings-in-law, David, Jean Crosby, Faith, Grover Crosby, Donald and June Crosby.
