It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rutherford Thomas (Toronto, Ontario), who passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Bridget; his children, Sydney (Kim), Jennifer, Selma, Selwyn, Hazel and Lima; his daughter-in-law Sonia; his grandchildren, Simone, Skylar, Spencer, Kendra, Tene, Tre Neiceia, Michelle, Dirk, Tahira, Tamika and Tamara; his children, Alex (Camille), Patrice, Key and Kiera; his siblings, Godfrey, Newbry, Oscar, Terrance, Lynette, Patricia and Sheila; and his uncle Tom.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McDougall & Brown Funeral Home Scarborough Chapel (2900 Kingston Rd, Scarborough, ON M1M1N5). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, Scarborough Chapel (2900 Kingston Rd, Scarborough, ON M1M1N5). A burial will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens (2700 Kingston Rd, Scarborough, ON M1M1M5). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Avenue Restaurant (1085 Bellamy Rd N, Scarborough, ON M1H3C7).
