With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Tekla Zinko (Toronto, Ontario), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Tekla left this world on July 20, 2025 at the age of 99, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Tekla may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Tekla touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Mykola Zinko; and her parents, Vasyl Jarmola and Paraskevia Soloducha Jarmola. She is survived by: her daughters, Emilia Nahirny (Myron) and Lidia; and her grandson Alex Nahirny.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cardinal Funeral Homes (92 Annette St, Toronto, ON M6P1N6). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church (135 La Rose Ave, Etobicoke, ON M9P1B3). A burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the St Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery.
