She was predeceased by: her husband Ronald Kitchen; her parents, Llewellyn Mercer and Hannah Rose Mercer (Annie); and her siblings, Elizabeth, Violet (Harold Moray), Arthur, James, Nelson (Jean Burnham), Thelma (Arthur Sadler) and Hilda (Edgar Hanlan).
She is survived by: her children, Gayle Edward and Alan Kitchen; her grandchildren, Dan (De), Catherine (Simon) and Graham (Simona); her great grandchildren, Lincoln, Naryiah and Lilia; her sister-in-law Verna Peterson (Nelson); her in-laws, Sharen (Joe), Morley, Carol, Howard and Athelia; and her cousins, Iris Brett and Thelma Sullivan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre (2075 Bayview Ave, Toronto, ON M4N3M5). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sunnybrook Hospital (2075 Bayview Ave, Toronto, ON M4N3M5). A reception was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at 801 York Mills Rd, Toronto, ON M3B1X7. A burial was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Philip's Anglican Churchyard Cemetery (31 St. Phillips Rd, Toronto, ON M9P2N7).
