He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Alpha; and his brother-in-law Doug Gurr (Helen). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Harron (Speed); his daughters, Heather (Bill), Janet (Liam) and Christine; his grandchildren, Andrew (Cori), Matthew (Heather) and Isobel (Jacob); his great grandchildren, Owen (Andrew) and Brody (Matthew); his siblings, Helen, Maureen and Tommy; his brother-in-law Gilbert Jones (Maureen); and his friend Frank Kraul.
