He was predeceased by: his siblings, Brian and Betty Jones (Ed). He is survived by: his children, Bill Cooney (Lori), Bob Cooney (Cathy), Brad Cooney (Cheryl) and Bonnie Cooney-McLean (Duane); his parents, Orval Cooney and Marjorie Cooney; and his wife Carrie of Trenton.
