With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary (Rhebergen) Smit (Trenton, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 15, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Jan and Antje; her husbands, John C. Rhebergen and Albert Smit; and her brother Hilbert.

She is survived by: her great grandchildren, Peter, Jane Rhebergen, Alisha, Nathan Kowalski, Lianne, Ryan Barr, Jeff, Jihwan, Julian and Emma; her grandchildren, Charles, Heather Tapp, Alex, Adam Olsen, Ben, Karalyn, Daniel, Shylah (Jasmine), Anita, Roger Broersma, Darryl Cox, Brianna, Nicholas, Richard, Rosanne Rhebergen, Megan Rhebergen, John, Elise (Lennon), Emily, Owen Lake, Bernard, Jennifer Rhebergen, Kayla, Mark Terrigno, Kyle, Meagan, Tamara and Cody Juby; and her siblings, Sylvia DeVries (late John), Bill, Shirley Dykstra (late Ron), Margaret Bil (late Clarence), Greta Vanderveen (late John), Jane VanSoelen (late Gilbert), Wilma Dibbits (Hans), Rose Verhage (James) and Dick Zandstra (Evelyn).
