It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helen Whalen of Tweed, Ontario, who passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband James Edward Whalen; her daughter Cindy Clement; her parents, James Rivers and Kay Rivers; and her siblings, Noreen Lynch, Rose Marie Rivers, Vera Farrell, Francis Rivers and Clair Rivers.
She is survived by: her children, Chris Whalen (Lisa), Sandra Paul (Doug), Debbie Courneya (Marc) and Vicky McCormack (Dave); her grandchildren, Adam Clement, Ashley Clement, Arianna Clement, Jacob Whalen, Cory Whalen, Jarred Whalen, Caleb Whalen, Benjamin Paul, Samantha Paul, Jennifer Paul, Shane Courneya, Devon Courneya, Taryn Courneya, Liam McCormack and Kalyen McCormack; her sisters, Sheila Hunt and Sharon Cove; her niece Shirley Lajoie; Pat Clement. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 22nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rushnell Funeral Homes - Tweed (137 Colborne St, Tweed, ON K0K3J0). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, February 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Carthagh's Catholic Church (153 Hungerford Rd, Tweed, ON K0K3J0).
