She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Bowers and Hannah Bowers (Lorne Irvine Gunning); her son Garry Lorne (Donald Palmateer); and her siblings, Lorne Bowers and Dorothy Fisher.

She is survived by : her children, Jim (Jacie), Lynda Akey (Gary), Dianne Spencer (Murray), Lorna Fratschko (Erich) and John (Gaylene); and her husband Lorne. She is also survived by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made (sorry no cash) to St. John's United Church; Gateway Community Health Centre (for programs); the Salvation Army, or to Moira Place Benevolent Fund.

“We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Aunt Myrtle. She will be missed by all of us. She and Grandma were so close. I will always remember going to church suppers and performances, and Aunt Myrtle was always the first to say hello and ask how were were doing. She will forever be in our hearts.
