With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Imanse of Varna, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 22, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Imanse and Cornelia Imanse; and his siblings, Frank Imanse, Gertie Penninga (Don), Janice DeVries and Susanna Speir (Bob).

He is survived by: his siblings, Andrew (Ruth Imanse), Peter (Jean Imanse), Jo-Anne (John Forestell) and Darlene (Petr Stastny). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“We were part of the Merit Travel group, Dutch Liberation, 80th Anniversary Tour in May of this year with John. Apparently this was one of many of such trips he made with them. Although burdened with limited mobility, John was determined to see the sights and we were among many offering to push him in the wheelchair. We very much enjoyed talking with him about his life on the farm and his prior European tours. It was such a shock to learn of his passing. Our sincere condolences to his family.”
