It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Verbena McGivney Weinert (Vaughan, Ontario), who passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Francis and Margaret McGivney (McGrorey); and her siblings, Patricia McGivney, John (Sheila), James and Evlyn McGivney-Riley.
She is survived by: her sister Joan McGivney (Tom Hanes); her brother-in-law Austin Riley; her sons, Michael Robert (Rose-Mary), Brian Francis and Bruce James; her grandchildren, Leah (Scott Carter), Meghan (Erik Frye), Melanie (John Heymans) and Alex Weinert (Lauren); and her great grandchildren, Nathan of Julia, JJ and Emmerson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes (8088 Yonge St, Thornhill, ON L4J1W3). A Mass will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paschal Baylon Church (92 Steeles Ave W, Thornhill, ON L4J1A1).
