He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Poole and Alta Poole (Kennedy); his parents-in-law, John Geerts and Adriana Geerts (Van Opstal); and his siblings-in-law, Anne Tardif and Gilles Tardif.

He is survived by: his spouse Jose (Geerts); his children, Wendy Chen (Peter) of Richmond, BC and David Poole of Vernon; his grandchildren, Matthew Chen and Amelia Chen of Richmond, BC.; his sisters, Marlene (William Shepheard) and Linda (Jack Yourt); and his siblings-in-law, Casey Geerts (Claudette), Mary (late Gaetan Blanchard), Joanne (late Richard Lafrance) and Henry Geerts (Donna). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
