Tanja Buttle Obituary
Tanja Buttle nee Sanders passed away suddenly at her home on February 17, 2026 in her 80th year.
Survived by her children Joseph Douglas St Lawrence and Heather Veronica St Lawrence, her grandchildren Hannah, Ava, Sophie and Maia St Lawrence and sibling Doreen (Dale) Morey, Douglas (Carol-Anne) Sanders, Gary (Pat) Sanders and Theodore Sanders. She will be missed by her nephews Douglas (Lindsey) Morey, Greg (Laura) Morey and great niece and nephews Sophia, Simon, Sterling and Grayson Morey.
She was a generous and kind person who served her community through the Verona Lions Club since 2017. She was smart and funny and loved a good laugh. Tanja found her indigenous roots later in life but embraced the culture learning some of the language and history of the Haida tribe. She was a great artist leaving behind many paintings and drawings of her favorite subjects. She enjoyed doing puzzles. She spent some very happy years with her dear friend Louise Day.
There will be a celebration of Tanja's life at the Verona Lions Hall including a Lion service on April 18 from 2 – 4 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
