He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Wismer and Helen Wismer; his wife Jean Seehuber of Welland; and his daughter-in-law Katherine. He is survived by: his sister Nancy Livingstone of Hanover; and his sister-in-law Margaret Pick (Ihor) of Fonthill. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Tallman Funeral Homes (3277 King St, Vineland, ON L0R2C0). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Oaklawn Cemetery (4100 Bridgeport Dr, Jordan Station, ON L0R1S0). A reception was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Tallman Funeral Homes - Fireside Room (3277 King St, Vineland, ON L0R2C0).

Memorial donations may be made to the United Mennonite Home of Vineland (https://umh.ca), in gratitude for the loving care Joe received over the past several years at the Orchard View Apartments.
