He was predeceased by: his parents, Siegmund Rucks and Mary Rucks; and his brother Ronald Rucks (Tilley). He is survived by: his wife Carol Rucks; his children, Suanne Whitfield (Jeff) and Lisa Kuiper (Gerald); his grandchildren, Madison and Miranda Whitfield; and his sister Marlene Plumadore (Ray). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tintern Church of Christ (4359 Spring Creek Rd, Lincoln, ON L0R2C0). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Great Lakes Christian High School (https://glchs.ca) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
