He was predeceased by: his wife Frances (Newman); his parents, Preston Johnson and Iva Johnson (Disher); and his sister Marion Guinn (Ted). He is survived by: his daughters, Diane Cumming (Harry) and Jill Johnson (Andre); and his siblings-in-law, Jim Newman, George Novis and Elaine Newman (Norris).

Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (602 Metler Rd, Fenwick, ON L0S1C0). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at the North Pelham Cemetery.
