He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur and Aris; and his sisters, Betty Etling (Bob) and Grace Deamude-Kirk (Fred). He is survived by: his wife Joan; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Kelly, Tyler (Rosalyn), Katie Felice (Anthony), Scott Campbell (Alex), John, Grace, Domenic and Emilia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“I knew John for only a short while, sharing a hospital room with him at Niagara Falls General Hospital. While he was able, John showed a deep love of family, and especially of his wife Joan, respect for tradition and hard work, and and had a terrific sense of humour. I will always remember with much fondness wishing him a good morning though the curtains, and sending Joan a brief update of his night, before she came to visit for the afternoon. He will be deeply missed, but well remembered.”
