She was predeceased by: her parents, Katherine Edwards (Kate) and Bernard Edwards (Cot); her husband Gord Thompson; and her stepdaughter Leanne. She is survived by: her sons, Robert (Deb), Mark and Scott (Dianne); her grandchildren, Melissa (Paul), Lesley (Graeme), Karly (Niss), Greg (Chelsea), Aydan, Erin (Ryan), Jessica, Jeff (Barb), Janel (Alex), Leo, Alasdair, Lachlan, Raelyn, Cali, Lincoln and Liam; her siblings, Grace, Frank, Joseph and Joy; and her sisters-in-law, Margo and Barb Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
