He was predeceased by: his siblings, Madeleine McArther (Aubrey), Joseph McDonald (Florence), Gloria McDonald, Raymond McDonald (Eleanor) and Sheila McDonald; and his parents, Gordon McDonald and Theresa Kennedy.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanne McDonald; his children, Ron McDonald (Lori), Doug McDonald (Trish), Ken McDonald (Ella), Eric McDonald (Nancy), Anita McDonald, Loretta McDonald (Joe) and Michele McDonald (Chris); and his siblings, Bernadette Robertson (Keith), Angela Laycock-Wolfenden (late Roy), Vera Pinder (late Francis), Lucille Moore, Jean McDonald and Cheryl Killip (Steve). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
