He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Dickson and Evonne; his stepfather Reg Carr; his in-laws, Clayton and Norma Carrick; his brother Brian (Mary Anne); and his sister-in-law Dawn Louise Carrick.

He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his children, Darren (Lori), Jason, Jeremy (Michelle) and Aimee; his grandchildren, Rachel Dickson, Amber, Kodi Scott, Cassii, Michael Carpino, Leanne, Colin White, Jayden Cole-Dickson and Hannah Dickson; his great grandchildren, Sonya, Tyler, Tyson, Ariel, Joseph and Kylie; his siblings, Allan (Betty), Heather, Cindy (Dan), Jim (Pat), Tim and Nicole (late Ted); and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Dunlop (late Jim), Jocelyn O'Leary (late Bob), Nathaniel, Shelley Carrick, Shelby, Mark Whipp, Carol Litster (late Braden), Michele and Paul Godward. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends.
