He was predeceased by : his granddaughter Katie; and his brother Heinz. He is survived by : his wife Kate (Avey); his children, Kathy Reppington (Don), Brenda Tabe (Pete Berry), Karl and Brian; his grandchildren, Tony, Krissy (Scott), Simone and Annika; his great grandchildren, Serenity, Leo and Aria; and his siblings, Wilhelm, Hans Herrmann, Gisela and Hanna of Germany. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Toronto Sick Children's Hospital or C.A.M.H. (The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health).
