He was predeceased by: his father John Walter Sutton; his stepfather Harold Boswell; his mother Dorothy Boswell; his brother Alvin Boswell; his brother-in-law Elwood Handsor; and his nephew Michael Maxwell.

He is survived by: his wife Cairn Sutton; his daughters, Elissa Sutton and Hilary Sutton (Tom Shrubb); his siblings, Diane Handsor, Geri Bailey (Wes Bailey), Trever Sutton (Sandy Sutton) and Kevin Boswell; and his grandchildren, Oliver Whitman, Connor Millar, Lily and Iris Shrubb. He is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
