It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David J. Martens (Waterloo, Ontario), born in Coaldale, Alberta, who passed away on May 12, 2026, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter and Barbara; and his brothers, Peter and Frank. He is survived by: his wife Alice; his children, John Martens (Dawn) and Joy Gleeson (Rob); his grandchildren, Bethany Moelker (Scott), Deanna Oliver (Nathaniel), Miriam Martens (Karl Armstrong) and Daniel Martens (Rachael Liness); and his siblings, Margaret Symons (Doug), Victor Martens (Diane) and Barb Wilkie (Don). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home (171 King St S, Waterloo, ON N2J1P7). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
