He was predeceased by: his uncle Charles. He is survived by: his mother Cathy Knox; his sister Caity Knox (Devin); his nieces and nephews, Nova and Dakoda Knox of Alberta; his half-sister Annette Songer (John); his uncle Eric McPherson (Nancy) of Kentucky; his aunt Cindy Sullivan (Jim) of Oklahoma; his father Timothy Lorenz (Tammy) of Ohio; and his wife Adrienne.

In honor of Lane's life, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Hospitality House (through the Working Centre).
