He was predeceased by: his parents, George Oakes and Elizabeth Oakes; and his siblings, Francie Friess, Betty "Joan" Carey, Ann Bennett and George "Bud" Oakes.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his sons, Shaun (Jackie) and Michael (Darlene); his grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Avery and Hayden; and his sisters, Mary Zellmann and Kathy Filcher.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:15 PM at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home (171 King St S, Waterloo, ON N2J1P7). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home Chapel (171 King St S, Waterloo, ON N2J1P7).
