He was predeceased by: his parents, Aimé Fortier and Laurence Fortier; and his siblings, Leo, Ovila and Annette.

He is survived by: his significant other Jeannette Dutka; his children, Michele Dutka (Rick), Stephen Dutka (Leanne) and Tammy Pawluk (Mike); his grandchildren, Lily, Dahlia and Andi; his sisters, Cecile Lanteigne and Claire Dupont; and his sisters-in-law, Hugette Fortier and Elaine Goulet.
