He was predeceased by: his wife Rosemary; and his siblings, Francis Surek Burkinshaw, Peter, Anthony and Ernie.

He is survived by: his children, Carol Macoretta, Rose Tellier, Michael and Chris; and his sisters-in-law, Cathie Breton, Ollie Pizzacalla and Joyce MacFarlane. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society.
