He was predeceased by: his parents, George Angus and Leafy Mae Grant. He is survived by: his wife Laurette; his children, Susan (Rhéal Demers), Carole (Roly Paré), Linda Grant (Hal Kerwin) and Doug Grant Jr. (Sue); his grandchildren, Andréa (Dan), Julie (Richard), Lisa (Grant), Leanne (Jeremy), Chris, Tiffany (Sean), Jesse (Liz), Mitchell, Derek (Ashley) and Sierra (Jose); and his brother George Grant.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Welland Community Breakfast Program at Holy Trinity Church or to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated by the family.
