He was predeceased by : his brother Brock Boyd. He is survived by : his daughters, Melanie Carey (Tom) of England and Rebecca Boyd; his grandson Michael Pomkoski; his siblings, Wayne Boyd (Nicole), Kevin Boyd (Betty) and Robin Ellis (Kevin); and his friend Charlene Moreau (Rene). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
