She was predeceased by: her husbands, Ronald Gourlay and Michael Remarchuk. She is survived by: her children, Karen Despot (Georges), Brenda Cherniak (David) and Brian Smeltzer; her grandchildren, Brett Cherniak and Megan (Charlie Briggs); her siblings, Gene (Jack Malloy), Jack, Lyn Daly, Ray and Jan Daly; and her nieces and nephews, Jeff, Todd, Cory, Trevor, Tracy, Chris, Braden and Jessica.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gwen's honour may be made directly to Canadian Cancer Society.
