Irene leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Irene’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Irene will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Marcel Bissonnette; her children, Pauline Bissonnette-Raby (Gaetan), Albert Bissonnette (Suzanne) and Marie Bissonnette-Brickell (Mark); and her parents, Jean-Baptiste Garon and Alice Morin-Garon. She was also cherished by her 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Welland Funeral Home (827 E Main St, Welland, ON L3B3Y8). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Église Sacré-Coeur (72 Empire St, Welland, ON L3B2L4). A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (50 Woodlawn Rd, Welland, ON L3C3J5).
