He was predeceased by: his son David; his parents, Joe Gerden and Frances Gerden; his siblings-in-law, Peter (Olive) and Milka Habjan (late Walter Vlasic); and his brother Joseph.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Gerden; his siblings, Frank (Phyllis) and Minka (Ivan Korelc); and his siblings-in-law, Louise, John, Antonia (Joseph Kramar), Susie (late Paul), Joe (Michelle), Tony (late Dubravka), Frank (Angie) and Andy (Carolyn). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donations in memory of John may be made to St. Elizabeth Church or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
