He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene McCandless and Sheldon McCandless; and his siblings, Murray, Lyle, Arthur, Shirley and Edith.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce (Foster); his children, Jeanette (Ryan) and Greg (Lora); and his grandchildren, Carter, Mollie and Nelson. He is also survived by his numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
