Michael Mattie Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 25, 2025, at the age of 92, Michael Mattie of Welland, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Gisèle Mattie; and his parents, Arthur Norman and Mary Jane (DeWolfe). He is survived by: his children, Anne Beaulieu (Daniel), Ginette Chartrand (André), Lorraine Beaulieu (Paul), Doris Lavigne (Marc), Lilliane Richard (Gilles), Lise, Nicole Kepecz (Brian), Michel (Chantal) and Céline Fortier (Jean); and his sister Rose Marie Boyle (late Joseph) of Antigonish. He is also survived by his 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J. J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence (19 Young St, Welland, ON L3B4C5). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Eglise du Sacre Coeur (72 Empire St, Welland, ON L3B2L4). A burial will be held on Friday, July 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (50 Woodlawn Rd, Welland, ON L3C3J5).
In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke, Foyer Richelieu or Église du Sacré-Coeur in his memory, would be a treasure to the family!
