He was predeceased by: his wife Darlene Pappin; his daughter Melinda Sheppit; and his parents, George Sheppit and Mary Sheppit. He is survived by: his children, Michael Sheppit (Lisa) of Grimsby, Paul Sheppit of Burlington and Theresa Sheppit of Burlington; his grandchildren, Melinda, Adah, Miah, Zoé, Lucas and Matthew; and his brothers, Carl Sheppit of Breslau and George Sheppit (Patty) of Mount Forest. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
