He was predeceased by: his parents, Geoffrey Riches and Cecilia Riches; and his brother-in-law Peter Young. He is survived by: his spouse Suzanne Hilton; his children, Brian Riches (Lorrie Sivers) and Sheri Riches; his stepchildren, John Hilton (Yoli) and Cindy Jansen (John); his siblings, Janet Young (George) and Sue Covert; and his siblings-in-law, Louise Cruz (Joe), Denise Cruz (late Lino), Henry Cote (Lucy), Roger Cote (Carmen), Claude Cote (Christine), Pauline McKellar (Archie) and Nelson Cote (late Eva). He is also survived by his six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations, in memory of Ben, may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation with cards available at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland who are in care of the funeral arrangements.
