With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Russell Michael Benner (Welland, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 22, 2025 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Russell Michael may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his wife Penny Jo Simpson; his parents, Culmer Benner and Olga Benner; and his siblings, Richard Benner and Cindy Pitt.
He is survived by: his sister Sharon Parfitt (Gary); and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Benner and Bob Pitt. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home (241 W Main St, Welland, ON L3C5A4). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
