He was predeceased by: his sister Margaret Dynes of Toronto; and his niece Deborah Kennedy of Haliburton. He is survived by: his wife Diane; his son Barry of Redmond, WA; his granddaughters, Adrienne of Boulder, CO and Madeline of Redmond; his sister Lenore; his siblings-in-law, Bill Gibson of Smiths Falls and Kathy Ricketts of Fredericton; his nephews, Rob of Hanwell, NB and Jon of Burlington; and his niece Kelly (Melvin Glover).
