He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Rempel and Sarah Rempel; and his sister Sara (John Wiebe). He is survived by: his siblings, Maria (Johan Peters), Susana Hamm (Jacob), Abram (Helena Rempel), Peter (Margaretha Rempel), Isaak (Katharina Rempel) and Margaretha (Franz Dyck).
