He was predeceased by : his parents, Abraham Friesen and Aganetha Friesen; and his siblings, Jake Friesen (late Margaret), Abe Friesen (Trudy) and Henry Friesen (Margaret).

He is survived by : his wife Margaret Friesen; his children, Lisa Friesen (Arno), Tina Dyck (Frank), Annie Neufeld (Jacob), Johnny Friesen (Lucy) and Abe Friesen (Caitrin); and his siblings, Corny Friesen (Nancy), George Friesen (Lisa), Lisa Reimer (John) and Frank Friesen (late Anna). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
