Darren Walker Obituary
Darren Walker, aged 44, of Whitby, peacefully passed away on May 17, 2026 at Lakeridge Health Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
Born on May 10, 1982, in Toronto to Paul Walker and Joni Conway, Darren grew up with a passion for baseball and played for many teams over the years including Whitby, Toronto and St. Catherine's. After graduating from Sinclair High School and Brock University, he went on to pursue a career in Construction with a focus on Sewer and Watermain reconstruction and rehabilitation, where he was known for his dedication, loyalty and ability to manage large projects across the Region and GTA.
Darren Walker is survived by his wife Danielle Oliveira and son Graeme Walker and the many friends, neighbours and colleagues who called him family.
Darren was a person of many passions. He enjoyed sports, cooking, building & travelling and poured passion into everything he did. His greatest pride and joy, however, was his little trio on Breezewood. It was not uncommon for Darren to be heard bragging about his wife and son who brought him immense joy. Not a day went by without him protecting his family, planning for their future or re-counting the million and one adventures they went on together.
A celebration of life will be held at Brooklin Pub on Saturday June 20th from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Darren requested donations be directed to the education fund he set up for his son Graeme Walker.
